[Dev] Module stylesheets

Hi,

I thought I'd raise an idea here to breathe a bit of life into the list!

I want to just follow on from a discussion I've been having with Steve
Sinclair off-list. Basically, in several Integra meetings the issue of
how we should treat the appearance of GUI modules has been raised. The
debate has largely been oriented around whether or not we should store
the height, width, colour etc. of GUI modules as part of their module
definition (in the database and XML)...

One thing that occurs to me (and I think Henrik F touched on this
before), is that each module collection should have an associated
stylesheet. So in the module definition we don't store any information
about the visual appearance of modules. Instead, we work on the basis
that a given module host is responsible for visual appearance and
layout, with the option of incorporating stylesheet information that is
associated with a given collection.

I would argue for this since the separation of style and content seems
very sensible to me. The obvious styling mechanism to me seems to be
XSL/XSLT, and think also previously suggested this (albeit for a
slightly different purpose).

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Jamie
