Migrations

Music that cannot be performed is condemned to oblivion. Many exciting works from the past thirty years are not performed anymore because they use obsolete technology.

One of the main aims of Integra is to bring back these works to the mainstream concert repertoire, allowing them to become once again active agents in our cultural and musical life.

The preservation of existing works is made possible by porting the original technology - usually hardware-dependent - onto a software-based environment, and storing all the performance data on a database available online.

During the three years of the project we will be migrating the technology of around thirty works. As soon as they are completed, the migrations and the relative documentation will be listed here.

The migration activities of the research centres are logged on the weblog, while the discussion on the repertoire migration takes place in the forum. You might also want to have a look at our migration resources folder, where you will find the list of the works being ported, and a collection of papers and files on the preservation and transfer of existing repertoire with live electronics.
